Introducing our new Ayr Racecourse Members’ Club filly TAP DANCER.
A 4 year-old filly (for 2026) to be trained by Scotland’s 2025 Group One Royal Ascot winning trainer Jim Goldie after being acquired from the excellent care of Derby winning trainer (Sir Percy, 2006) Marcus Tregoning.
Jim trained both of our horses from last year to win races, Penelope’s Sister going on to win three races whilst Sophiesticate saw the winners enclosure once and is very optimistic that members will have plenty of opportunities to see Tap Dancer run and hopefully win in 2026.
Tap Dancer is by the Godolphin-owned 2000 Guineas runner-up and Group 1 winner Territories out of a Tregoning-trained winning mare called Hazy Dancer (by Oasis Dream).
She’s a half-sister to two winners, Stylish Dancer and Two Past Eight , and is already a winner herself in a maiden for 2 year-olds at Bath in 2024, ridden by Keiren Shoemark.
Tap Dancer started her 3 year-old campaign in July last year rated 70, but she’d dropped to 65 by the end of the season and will resume in handicaps for Jim and the Club members from a very attractive opening mark of 62.
Also, although she’s won on heavy ground, she’s recorded almost identical Racing Post Ratings on going with Firm in the description and our new acquisition looks like she’ll handle the extremes of going which Britain’s Flat racing summer tends to throw up.
