And what a day in 2025 for jockey George Wood, winner on the same day of the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup on Run Boy Run as well as the Ladbrokes Ayr Silver Cup on Candy, both trained by Richard Spencer and owned by Phil Cunningham.
It’s not all about the Gold Cup though we have a fantastic supporting card. Scotland’s only Group race, the Group 3 Ladbrokes Firth Of Clyde Fillies’ Stakes is always an exciting spectacle as is the Listed Ladbrokes Doonside Cup.
The Ladbrokes Ayr Silver Cup is another of the day’s highlights. The atmosphere in the crowd is electric and few race days can match the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup Saturday in terms of excitement.
