JOCKEY Jimmy Sullivan produced two great rides to land a double at Ayr Racecourse yesterday.
His first win came on Redarna for trainer Dianne Sayer in the Racing UK Profits Returned To racing Handicap. He brought his mount with a blistering run to scythe through the field and collar Monsieur Jimmy close home.
The following contest half an hour later was the feature race of the afternoon, the Weatherbys Racing Diaries Handicap over seven furlongs and once again Jimmy was in top form bringing the Ruth Carr trained Explain late on the scene to win going away from Queen Penn.
Earlier in the afternoon Danny Tudhope used all his guile to get Inexes over the line by three quarters of a length from Shortbackandsides to win the Weatherbys Global Stallions App Handicap.
Tom Fife representing winning trainer Marjorie Fife said :"He can be a quirky sort but Danny knows how to get the best out of him and made sure he got home.”
The opening contest the Western House Hotel Nursery Handicap saw the Richard Fahey trained Firewater win convincingly by two and three quarter lengths from Ugo Gregory and the trainer completed a double when Billy Bond landed Div 1 of the apprentice handicap.
A brilliant ride from top jockey Paul Mulrennan brought Euchen Glen from last to first to win the inaugural running of the £40,000 Class 2 Sunsport Handicap for the Winton Cup at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday.READ MORE
