on Thursday 19th September
The Glasgow Warriors and Scotland rugby union players Ollie Smith and Murphy Walker will conduct the draw for the £180,000 Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup on the morning of the final declarations on Thursday, September 19.
The race itself takes place on Saturday September 21 and will be covered live on ITV.
The draw for the big-race will be held at Ayr Racecourse under the supervision of the British Horseracing Authority and conducted live on Racing TV at 11 am, with the programme presented by Gordon Brown.
Smith (9 caps) and Walker (5 caps) are young internationals making their way in a Glasgow Warriors squad which won the United Rugby Championship in June, culminating with a Grand Final success over the Bulls in Pretoria by 21-16.
Full-back Smith has Ayrshire roots having cut his rugby teeth with Marr and Ayr, while prop-forward Walker spent his formative seasons at Dundee HSFP and Stirling County.
Final declarations for the Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup will be known at 10am on the morning of the draw with the ballot for the 25 stalls positions taking place with Smith and Walker at 11am.
