37.5 hours

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our Ground Team at Ayr Racecourse, Scotland’s Premier Racecourse. This is a full-time role (39.5 hours per week), ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high standards.


The Role:
You’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties in preparation for racedays and other major events, as well as day-to-day ground maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carry Out Duties & Meeting Timelines Provided By Clerk Of The Course
  • Manage Day To Day Running Of Staff
  • Manage Some Record Keeping
  • Be willing To Carry Out Training Provided
  • Turf and ground maintenance
  • Preparation of the course and surrounding areas for racedays and events
  • Mowing, weed control, hedge cutting and trimming
  • General upkeep of outdoor areas
  • Working independently and as part of a team
  • Adhering to health and safety standards at all times

What we’re looking for:

  • A positive, motivated attitude
  • Experience or interest in turf management
  • Enjoys working outdoors in all conditions
  • Ability to work both solo and within a team
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
  • Good knowledge of health and safety in the workplace

Qualifications:

Qualifications in turf management are preferred but not essential

PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates preferred but not essential
