Start of the Flat Season at Ayr

THE 2017 Flat season at Ayr Racecourse starts this afternoon with the first day of a two day Sporing Festival meeting.

The seven race card gets under way at 2.00 pm with the Summer Weddings At Western House Hotel Novice Stakes for two year olds and Keith Dalgleish’s once raced Che Bella, the mount of Phillip Makin, could go close in this.

The feature race at 4.30 pm is the Book Your Celebration at Western House Hotel Handicap over a mile and this is a wide open contest.

Jim Goldie runs recent Doncaster winner Nicholas T with Sam James riding while leading northern trainer Richard Fahey sends Inaam from North Yorkshire with two time champion jockey Paul Hanagan in the plate.

The afternoon concludes with an amateur riders’ handicap over a mile at 5.00 pm.

Ayr also races tomorrow with the first race gain at 2.00 pm. Gates are open both days at 12 noon.
