Our Ayr Racecourse Members Club filly Penelope’s Sister has been given 3 different entries at Ayr’s 2-day meeting this Sunday and Monday and trainer Jim Goldie will decide on the best winning option for the 5 year-old ahead of declarations on Friday (for Sunday) and Saturday (for Monday).
The 3 possible races for our recent course winner are as follows.
Sunday 4.05pm Class 4 n-trance@sounds Of Summer Racenight Handicap (a GBB Plus race) over 10 furlongs. (Ratings 0-80)
Monday 2.30pm Class6 racingtv.com/freetrial Handicap over 10 furlongs. (Ratings 0-65)
Monday 4.40pm Class6 Try Racing TV For Free Now Handicap over a mile (8 furlongs). (Ratings 0-65)
Penelope’s Sister is currently rated 58 after her Class 6 win at Ayr in May off a rating of 51 but she’s since run well in a valuable Class 3 race (0-90) at Hamilton despite being found afterwards to have been slightly under the weather and Jim is clearly happy that she’s back to something like her best.
Since Penelope’s Sister last ran at Hamilton, Jim has become Scotland’s only Group 1 winning trainer after American Affair’s win in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot and our Managing Director David Brown presented a commemorative bottle of champagne at our last meeting on June 21, after Jim had delighted racegoers with his inside track on the Royal Ascot success in an interview with our Raceday Presenter Jim Delahunt.
