During May 2019 students from Holmston Primary School visited us here at Ayr Racecourse as part of their Travel and Tourism project.
During their visit they learned about the practical functions of working at Ayr Racecourse as well the history behind the Racecourse and impact on the local community. Their informative tour proved to be quite the hit with the Primary School students, where they toured the parade ring, weighing room, stables, track and the hospitality facilities, offering a well-rounded tour of all practices and impact on Ayrshire’s tourism industry.
The tour was hosted by our PR Manager Iain Ferguson who found the experience to be a very rewarding one: “the pupils were very receptive to learning about the racecourse and how racing evolved in Ayr. There were many questions and it was obvious that the pupils had enjoyed their visit in particular the tour of the Weighing Room and the Stables”.
