We are delighted to be welcoming back spectators to Ayr Racecourse for a phased return on Wednesday 2nd June 2021, it really hasn’t been the same without you!

During the course of the 2021 Season here at Ayr we will be operating at a limited capacity, keeping in line with Scottish Government guidelines. We know this is a challenging and ever-changing time, so here is a rundown of everything you need to know.

During the ever changing situation, to provide reassurance when booking, any customer who purchases a ticket for a future fixture will be entitled to either a transfer or obtain a full refund in the event it is cancelled. If a customer is required by law to be in self isolation at the time of the event and can provide the relevant proof, they will also be entitled to a transfer or refund. Please note that Ayr Racecourse also reserves the right to transfer, refund or upgrade you at any point based on any specific capacity restrictions and zoning protocols.

 

RETURNING TO THE RACECOURSE - FAQ’s

Will I receive my tickets through the post?
To keep yourself and our staff safe, we have now moved to e-tickets, which means your tickets will automatically be sent to your e-mail prior to the Raceday.

Do I need to wear a face covering?
In line with Scottish Government’s latest guidelines, Face Masks are required to be worn indoors at all times unless eating or drinking. 

Will there be bookmakers on site?
Bookmakers will be on site as normal, with the Tote, William Hill and various outside bookmakers to choose from.

Will bar and food outlets be open?
Yes, bar and food outlets will be open on course. Please note due to current restrictions food and drink must be ordered, served and consumed at a table, with current restrictions allowing 10 people from 4 households to be seated at the one table.

Can I buy food & drink with cash?
We strongly urge everyone to operate cashless whilst at the Racecourse, with card payment accepted throughout.

Where can I park?
Car parking is available to all as normal in the public car park between the Racecourse and Tesco.

When will the gates open?
Gates will open approximately 2 hours before the first race.

Will I need to socially distance?
Yes, social distancing will be in place throughout the Racecourse and we ask that all spectators comply whilst on Course.

Will I get a refund if the event is cancelled?
Yes, if any customer who purchases a ticket for a future fixture will be entitled to either a transfer or obtain a full refund in the event it is cancelled.

Do I get a refund if I have to self-isolate?
If a customer is required by law to be in self isolation at the time of the event and can provide the relevant proof, they will also be entitled to a transfer or refund.

Will Racecards be available?
Racecards will be available digitally, rather than the usual hard copies available on Course. The Racecard can be viewed digitally and will be posted on our social media and website prior to the Raceday.

Can I view the racing from the Trackside?
Yes, there will be access to the trackside for spectators to view the racing.

Are under 18s welcome?
Under 18s go free with a paying adult (child ticket must be added when booking). Please Note : U18 tickets must be collected on the day, where we hold to right to ask for proof of age to gain entry.

Do I need to provide track and trace details?
Everyone will be contacted prior to the Raceday to gain track and trace details.

Can I view the Parade Ring?
Yes, you will be able to access the Parade Ring to watch the horses Parade.

Can I purhcase a ticket on the day?
No, all tickets must be booked in advance either online or over the phone.

Do you offer concession tickets?
Yes, concession tickets are available for all our fixture expect the Ayr Gold Cup & Scottish Grand National Saturdays. Concessions will receive £5 off full priced tickets, and can be booked online or over the phone.

Safety Measures while Visiting

For your safety and the safety of others, please make sure to observe the following whilst at our Racecourse:

  • Where possible, please travel to the racecourse in private transport.
  • Do not travel to the racecourse if you have any Covid-19 symptoms as entry will be denied.
  • Observe all social distancing protocols at all times, whether inside or outside the racecourse.
  • Please comply with Government guidance relating to face coverings whilst at the racecourse.
  • Please comply with any health checks that may be required on entering the racecourse. Please arrive in good time to go through the necessary entry procedures
  • Be aware, your temperature may be taken on entry.
  • Familiarise yourself with your entry point [entry time] and location of amenities within the racecourse
  • Please ensure food and beverage is consumed within the designated areas at the racecourse, such as your table or seat. Table service will be available.
  • Some racecourses may choose to operate a cashless event. On-course bookmakers/pool betting operators may accept cash.
  • Please use only the designated smoking areas on-course for cigarettes and e-cigarettes. [for racecourses with designated smoking areas]
  • Regularly wash your hands, use hand sanitizer and avoid touching your face and dispose of any used tissues appropriately.
  • Do not remove hand sanitizer or other personal hygiene products from their locations.
  • Do not congregate in specific areas of the racecourse (for example, along the rail or by the Winning Post).
  • Make sure all walkways, corridors and doorways etc are clear before you walk through.
  • Avoid face to face contact with other spectators and avoid hugs, high fives and any contact with people not in your social bubble.
  • Follow all signage and the instructions of staff, officials or any emergency service personnel present at the racecourse.
  • Do not try to access areas of the racecourse apart the area detailed on your ticket.
  • Make sure other members of your group have read and understood these guidelines.
