Fixture Overview

The first Listed race of the Flat season at Ayr, the British Stallion Studs EBF Rothesay Stakes is run this afternoon.

This contest was first run in 2016 when the winner was Maleficent Queen from the Keith Dalgleish yard. In 2019 Shenanigans, trained by Roger Varian and ridden by Andrea Atzeni was victorious the second time the trainer-jockey pairing had won the Rothesay Stakes as Nezwaah triumphed in 2017.

There is every chance the Varian camp will attempt to win this for the third time as could Keith Dalgleish who won it for a second time with Euro Nightmare in 2018.

Other races on a competitive card include the EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes for two year-olds over five furlongs.
