Nicky Richards returns to the scene of his thrilling Coral Scottish Grand National win today (Tuesday) when he saddles three runners at Ayr Racecourse’s May Raceday where prize-money of £60,000 is up for grabs.
Rubytwo represents the stable in the Like Racing TV On Facebook Handicap Hurdle over 2m 4f at 2.30pm with up and coming conditional jockey Danny McMenamin taking the mount. Danny also rides Court Dreaming in the Watch Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle.
The feature contest of the day is the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Chase, a Class 3 race over 2m 4f with £17,800 in the prize fund and in this Nicky and leading northern jockey Brian Hughes team up with Blakerigg who won over course and distance last November.
Pembrokeshire-based trainer Peter Bowen sends Dr Robin on an 800 mile round trip to take on Blakerigg and six other opponents and his son Sean takes the ride.
The final race on the card is the Celebrate At The Western House Hotel Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race over two miles where Stuart Crawford, who has a good record in this type of race, introduces Streets of Doyen and Largy Mouth.
The first race is due off at 2.00pm with gates open at 12 noon.
