There's an eight race card at Ayr Racecourse today (Monday) with the first of four Monday fixtures at the track this month.
The afternoon begins with a six furlong novice stakes for two year-olds and Newmarket based trainer George Scott saddles his first ever runner at the track sending Another Batt north in a bid to win under Danny Tudhope while other notable runners include Karl Burke’s Beatbox Rhythm with PJ McDonald riding and Kevin Ryan’s Stormbringer (Martin Harley).
The feature race of the afternoon is the five furlong Class 3 handicap due off at 4.55 pm and Jack Dexter is an interesting runner here for trainer Jim Goldie. Jack, now eight, has won Group and Listed races, an Ayr Bronze Cup and more than £400,000 in prize-money.
The action concludes with an apprentice handicap over seven furlongs and Rebecca Bastiman’s course winner Secret City should go close in the hands of Ben Robinson.
The first race is due off at 1.45 pm with gates open at 12.15 pm.
