THE recent highly successful Coral Scottish Grand National Festival at Ayr Racecourse had a spin off for the course’s charity partner Ayrshire Cancer Support who received a donation of £1,718.
The money was raised after 50p of every racecard sold at the two day Festival was donated to the charity along with donations from people who booked tickets online.
The charity also sold raffle tickets to own a racehorse for a day which is being run in conjunction with the racecourse.
Laura Brown, Income and Marketing Manager for Ayrshire Cancer Support, said : “It’s an honour to be the official charity partner of Ayr Racecourse and I was delighted at the response we received from the attendees of Ladies Day at the Coral Scottish Grand National Festival.”
David Brown, Managing Director of Ayr Racecourse added : “We are delighted to have this charity partnership with Ayrshire Cancer Support and to be able to hand over a cheque from the proceeds of racecard sales at the Coral Scottish Grand National.”
The partnership will run for two years and during that time in addition to assisting in fund raising events the Racecourse and Western House will aim to heighten the public profile of the Ayrshire wide charity.
