Ladies Riders only opening race at Ayr

THERE’S some exciting racing in prospect at AYR Racecourse tonight (Saturday) for QTS Ladies Night.

Its lady riders only in the opening contest, The QTS Women In Engineering Lady Riders’ Handicap Stakes at 5.50 pm where both amateur and professional female jockeys can ride.

Last year’s winning rider Amy Waugh has an interesting mount in Danny Mc D from the in-form Iain Jardine stable while top weight Haymarket, who has three time lady amateur champion jockey Carol Bartley in the saddle could also go close.

The feature race is the QTS Ladies’ Night Grand Spectacular Handicap over the minimum trip of five furlongs and Fast Act, trained by Kevin Ryan and the mount of Kevin Stott should take all the beating here.

The final race of the night at 8.50 pm is the neselectriacl.com handicap where Golden Jeffrey from the Iain Jardine yard could be up to carrying top weight to glory over one mile seven furlongs with young apprentice Jamie Gormley riding.

Gates open at 3.50 pm.

Issued by Iain Ferguson on behalf of Ayr Racecourse. For further information please contact Iain Ferguson on 01292-294972 or 07795-565691.
