There is evening racing at Ayr Racecourse tonight (Monday) with a seven race card coming under starter’s orders at 6.00pm.
The opening race is a Novice Stakes over a mile and this has attracted eight runners including the unraced and well bred Addis Ababa, trained by David O’Meara and the mount of Danny Tudhope.
The feature race is the Watch More With Racing UK Extra Handicap over seven furlongs at 7.30pm and 14 runners go to post here with Jay Kay, a six time course winner, catching the eye for trainer Karl Burke with Clifford Lee riding. Keith Dalgleish runs Saint Equiano, another Ayr winner, and has stable apprentice Rowan Scott on board.
The Racing UK Handicap over six furlongs at 8.00pm sees Muscika, winner of the corresponding race last year, represent the O’Meara-Tudhope combination while the in-form Paul Midgley yard saddle Hee Haw with Phillip Makin taking the ride.
Another trainer firing in the winners is Jedd O’Keefe and he will be hoping Rebel State, a winner on May 22 at the track, can win the finale, the Get So Much More With Racing UK Handicap over seven furlongs.
Gates open at 4.00pm.

THE curtain came down on the 2018 Flat season at Ayr yesterday and Keith Dalgleish celebrated by saddling a first and second race double to clinch the trainers’ title at the track. First up was Epona in the opening novice stakes. Given an enterprising ride from Rowan Scott the two year-old filly established a commanding lead and repelled the challenge of the heavily backed Pendleton to win by two and a quarter lengths.READ MORE
