Ayr Racecourse stages an eight race jumps card today (Monday) with some really competitive racing in prospect.
The afternoon kicks off at 2.10pm with the Weddings At Western House Handicap Hurdle which has attracted a huge field of 20 runners.
Leading northern trainer Nicky Richards saddles two here – top weight Top Billing, ridden by Ryan Day and Petite Ganache, the mount of Brian Hughes.
The Class 4 Bobby’s Bar Handicap Hurdle at 4.30pm is a competitive affair with Iain Jardine’s Traditional Dancer heading the weights while Nicky Richards send Imada second here in March to Mike Smith’s Our Lucas.
The two mile four and a half furlong novices’ hurdle at 5.05pm sees Lucinda Russell’s Bialco, runner up on his last two starts, line up in a strong field that also includes Olly Murphy’s Weebill.
The feature race is the two mile four furlong Book The Ayrshire Magazine Noughties Racenight Handicap Chase and two time course winner Lough Derg Jewel is one to note here for the powerful trainer-jockey combination of Donald McCain and Brian Hughes.
