ITV Racing’s top presenters are heading to Ayr Racecourse to cover Scotland’s flagship Flat meeting the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup Festival on Saturday September 22.
Lead presenter Ed Chamberlin will head the team who will screen four races live from the track on the day including the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup and Scotland’s only Group race the William Hill Firth of Clyde Stakes.
Among those joining Ed will be former jockey Jason Weaver who recorded two notable Ayr wins during his riding career on Key To My Heart in the 1996 Doonside Cup and on Monkston Point in the 1998 Firth of Clyde Stakes.
Francesca Cumani will also join Ed and Jason in the Parade Ring while Rishi Persad, Matt Chapman and Kevin Blake will be out and about on course and Richard Hoiles will be commentating on the action.
There will be more than £720,000 in prize-money across the three days of the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup with the Gold Cup itself having a prize fund of £200,000.
The action begins with Doonside Cup Day on the Thursday featuring the £65,000 William Hill Ayr Doonside Cup a Listed Race, Friday is Ladies Day with two £50,000 Listed races – the Shadwell Stud/EBF Stallions Harry Rosebery Stakes and the Al Maktoum Cup Arran Scottish Fillies’ Stakes
