Sponsorship is available for the Ayr Gold Cup - Scotland’s biggest and richest Flat racing Festival - for only the sixth time in the last 45 years.

The Ayr Gold Cup is the centrepiece of the three-day Festival at Ayr Racecourse which will be run this year from Thursday September 17 – Saturday September 19.

The sponsorship covers seven races , four of which are screened live on ITV 4 and also include Scotland’s only Group race the Firth Of Clyde Stakes.

David Brown, Managing Director Ayr Racecourse said : “This is a rare opportunity for a company to be associated with what is not only the biggest Flat race meeting in Scotland but also one of our country’s top sporting events.

“It is a terrific occasion which attracts large crowds and is screened live on television.  Ayr Gold Cup Day is a very important one in the racing calendar. Not only is it a superb sporting occasion it is also  a really glamorous affair with many enjoying what is a terrific social occasion.”

The Ayr Gold Cup was first run in 1804 and the roll of honour includes some famous names including Lochsong,  a European Horse of the Year, who won in 1992 and in more recent times Brando who was successful in 2016 before going on to win a Group 1 contest.

The Ayr Gold Cup is currently the second richest sprint handicap with in Europe and in addition to ITV 4 coverage the race is broadcast to 440 million homes across 200 countries.
