It truly doesn't get any better than this.

One of the UK's top sporting occasions and the biggest day of the year in the Scottish horse racing calendar.

Coral Scottish Grand National Saturday has legendary status and rightly so.

Eight quality horse races, with the highlight being the £200,000 Coral Scottish Grand National itself, the joint sixth richest race of the entire national hunt season.

Up to 30 leading chasers will head to post, many of them well known horses ridden by the very top jockeys.

As the horses and riders mingle at the start opposite the packed stands the tension builds… the starter climbs the steps to his rostrum, the tapes go up and they're off !

The roar from the crowd is deafening the 2014 Coral Scottish Grand National is under way. Four miles and a half furlong and 27 fences later one horse will be crowned the winner and the crowds thronging the Winners Enclosure will show their appreciation for the heroic victor.

In addition to this awesome spectacle there are some more top quality races.

The QTS Scottish Champion Hurdle is guaranteed to attract top hurdlers from the UK and Ireland and has £70,000 in prize money.

The Arcadia Consulting William Dickie & Mary Robertson Future Champion Novices Chase is a platform for rising stars of the equine world and The Scotty Brand Handicap Chase is a Listed Race sure to feature some quality horses.

And after the final race the National Hunt Flat Race or bumper at 5.35 pm, a race famously won by Sprinter Scare in 2010 the fun continues.

Gangsters of Groove2 414x270
The superb Gangsters of Groove will have the Horseshoe Bar buzzing until approximately 8.50 pm. This is the first time the Gangsters of Groove have played to the Ayr crowd and we are sure no one will be disappointed.

We also have a disco in the Ayrshire Suite with West Sound's Colin McArdle.
