Coral Scottish Grand National

This is the big one, la creme de la creme of jumps racing in Scotland, Coral Scottish Grand National Saturday.

And the 2013 renewal of this great race could go down in history as Mr & Mrs Raymond Anderson Green attempt to win the race with Rival D'Estruval and capture the fampous trophy for the third time in four years.

The Greens grand old chaser Merigo won in 2010 and 2012 and was second in 2011 but was retired less than three weeks before this year's race.

But there will be some tough competition with all first five home at Aintree including the winner Rival D'Estruval entered.

A massive crowd of around 18,000 will flock to the course and the atmosphere is truly electric and in addition to the feature race there are some superb supporting contests.

These include the QTS Scottish Champion Hurdle over two miles which always attracts a healthy number of quality horses from the UK and Ireland.

And for the first time this year there is a Listed Race on the card, the Scotty Brand Handicap Chase while the Arcadia Consulting William Dickie and Mary Robertson Future Champion Chase is another mouth watering contest.

There is also the £60,000 Class 2 Weatherbys Hamilton Insurance Novices' Handicap Chase over 3 miles 1 furlong and the £30,000 DBS Spring Sales Bumper so all in all a mouth watering feast of racing.

Following racing top band Northern Star play for three hours in the Horseshoe Bar with a disco in the Ayrshire Suite.
