A fantastic afternoon’s racing is in prospect at Ayr Racecourse on Wednesday May 18 when Tennent’s Raceday features seven races with a total of £90,000 in prize-money and a brand new Listed Race.
The exciting new race is The Tennent’s British Stallion Studs Rothesay EBF Stakes with £50,000 in prize-money on offer and this looks certain to see some of the top stables in the UK sending runners to try to plunder the riches .
Run over one mile two furlongs for fillies aged four and upwards and due off at 4.20 pm it’s hoped this will soon establish itself as one of the top races on the Ayr calendar.
The supporting card includes the Jacks On Fire five furlong handicap at 4.55 pm which should be a competitive contest with some good sprinters in action and also the Ciroc Handicap over seven furlongs at 3.10 pm.
Commenting on the new Listed Race, Ayr Racecourse Managing Director David Brown said : “I am delighted we are introducing such a high quality new race and this will sit alongside our other prestigious races we run over the year.
“It adds real quality to the card and we are looking forward to an exciting day’s racing with many leading stables represented.”
