Local man Duncan can land spoils at Ayr

AYR stages Tennent’s Raceday today (Saturday) with the seven race card getting under way at 2.10 pm with the Menabrea Novices’ Hurdle.

This two mile four furlong contest features King Of Fashion from the Ina Duncan yard just five miles from the track in Coylton and the course winner could go in again.

Top weight Pistol Park looks the one to be on in the Tennent’s Lager Handicap Chase over two miles at 2.45 pm with the Brian Ellison trained, Brian Hughes ridden six year-old looking to follow up his recent Newcastle win.

The feature race of the day, the Magners Handicap Chase for the Hugh Barclay Challenge Trophy sees another Ian Duncan trained horse No No Mac, the mount of Brian Hughes out to emulate last month’s course win.

The going at the course is heavy with light drizzle giving way to a mainly dry afternoon.
