Fixture Overview

The early season highlight at Ayr - the Class 1 Listed The Tennent’s British Stallion Studs Rothesay EBF Stakes is run this afternoon.

Now in its third year this £50,000 contest produced a really worthy winner last year in Nezwaah, trained by Roger Varian and a filly that gave Andrea Atzeni his first ever Ayr winner.

Nezwaah went onto win the Pretty Polly Stake, a Group 1 race, at the Curragh later in the season while the runner-up Sophie P finished the turf season with a BHA rating of 104.

Real quality will be on show in this afternoon’s feature and the support card contains some good races too including a Class 3 five furlong handicap which was won last year by Rebecca Bastiman’s talented sprinter Royal Brave.

Racecourse favourites HIGHWAY take to the stage in the Horseshoe Bar in the Club stand for a three hour set after racing and will have the room buzzing with their brilliant interpretation of modern classic songs. A band not to be missed.

First race 2.20 pm, last race 5.20 pm. Gates open 12.20 noon.
