Enjoy what is simply the greatest day of jumps racing in Scotland – eight quality races with some of the leading jockeys and horses competing. And the entertainment is also right out of the top drawer.

If you want to enjoy one of the iconic sporting occasions of the year then you better book fast for this superb day has sold out in advance on each of the last two years.

And no wonder this combines some of the very best jumps racing in the land with eight quality races, live bands and lots of fun and entertainment.

The highlight of the day’s racing action is unquestionably the Coral Scottish Grand National. Run over four miles with up to 30 horses jumping 27 fences this race enthralls the huge crowd who reach fever pitch as the horses approach the final fences in the home straight and give it their all in search of one of the top prizes in the sport.

In 2016 the race was won by Vicente from the Paul Nicholls yard and that win cemented the trainers championship for Paul who was challenged all the way by Irish legend Willie Mullins who was saddling runners at Ayr that day for the first time.

The Coral Scottish Grand National is the second most valuable jumps handicap of the season behind only the Grand National and is in the top four races by betting turnover.

Other exciting races on the card include the QTS Scottish Champion Hurdle, a Class 1 Grade 2 race that attracts some of the top two mile hurdlers in the land. This race, won in 2016 by Ch’Tibello, trained by Dan Skelton and ridden by his brother Harry.

Also featured are the Jordan Electrics Ltd Future Champion Novices’ Chase, a grade 2, and The Scotty Brand Handicap Chase, a Listed Race.

Throughout the afternoon and before racing there is an assortment of quality entertainment including a tribute band in the tented village, jazz bands and flash mobs.

After racing the incredible Replay who cover all the classics and more play in the Horseshoe Bar within the Club stand with a top dj in the Ayrshire Suite.
