Overnighters
We appreciate that a large percentage of our runners have
travelled a considerably long way to race at Ayr, therefore we aim
to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In order for us to
achieve this, please read the below prior to arrival:
- On arrival please use the check-in area in Courtyard Two of the
Western House Hotel.
- We have a strict 2-per-room, same-sex policy due to limited
availability both in our 4* Western House Hotel and in local
B&B's. We aim to ensure that shared rooms are with personnel
from the same racing yard and/or of similar career status.
Valuables may be stored in safes provided in each room.
- On the evening before racing a complimentary meal is available
between 7pm and 9pm in the Western House Hotel. After this time a
'packed lunch' is offered for late arrivals.
- On day of departure, we would ask that you please vacate your
room by 11am.
- Etiquette for courtyard rooms - Unfortunately, due to Weddings,
Conferences and Sponsor Events the facilities of the main hotel
including the restaurant and bar are not open to
stable attendants staying in the courtyard rooms.
Please note also that no visitors to stable attendant
accommodation are permitted.
Race Day Stable Attendant Catering
New for the 2010/11 National Hunt Season is a
Stable Staff Canteen situated to the rear of the Pre-Parade ring
where hot and cold meals will be available throughout the race day
from 7 a.m until approximately 1.5 hours after the last race. The
day room is also available for your use, which is situated next
door to the canteen.
Box Drivers
Please ensure that rubbish or waste from both stables and
horseboxes is placed in the skips and bins provided, especially in
the horsebox unloading area. Help us keep the yard a clean &
tidy environment.
Box Drivers and day only visiting stable staff will have access
to shower and toilet facilities within the stable yard once they
are booked in. We also have a room available in the Hotel for
showers.
Once horses are unloaded please ensure you park
horseboxes in the box park across from Craigie Road and not in the
hotel car park. Please use loading area to load horses and do not
cross the road to load in the box park.
Morning Exercise
All morning exercise must be carried out between 7am and
8am.
Please inform Billy Seaton, Stable Manager on
07717 038084 in advance of your wish
to exercise horses.
