The course at Ayr is a flat left handed oval of about one and a
half miles with a long run in which will test the most resolute of
gallopers. Always considered to be a fair test for a good horse,
Ayr benefits from being close to the West coast, the moderate
climate and sandy soil combining to produce an excellent racing
surface at all times of the year.
