TOP JOCKEYS HEAD TO AYR
Monday October 22, 2007
AYR
Racecourse stages its penultimate flat meeting of the season on
Friday and racegoers are in for a treat with some of the
sport's top names heading for the Craigie track.
Leading jockeys Darryll Holland, Neil Callan, Paul Hanagan and
Royston Ffrench all have mounts and top trainers Mick Channon, Sir
Mark Prescott, Mark Johnston and Brian Smart send horses north
hoping for a late season win.
The seven race card gets under way at 2.10 pm with the EBF Daily
Record Maiden Fillies Stakes over a mile which has attracted some
decent looking two year olds including the Mick Channon trained,
Darryll Holland ridden Madame Hoi.
The feature race of the day is the WBX.Com 0% Commission On
Day's Big Race Handicap over one mile one furlong at 4.20 pm
and local trainer Linda Perratt has stable stars Mystical Ayr and
Neil's Legacy entered here.
The Ayr Executive have made Friday a Single Enclosure Day with all
racegoers being charged only £14 for entry.
This means a £6 saving on normal Club prices and those
attending the day will also be able to join in some seasonal fun as
the theme is a Ghouls and Goblins Raceday so Hallow'een will
come to the Craigie course five days early.
Ayr Racecourse Marketing Manager Lindsey Smith commented : "It
should be a great afternoon and what a fun way to start the weekend
early. If anyone wants to dress up they should do so and by making
it a single enclosure day we are hoping that a larger than normal
Friday afternoon crowd comes along."
Ayr also races on Saturday November 3 with the John Smith's
Raceday getting under way at 12.55 pm.
Advance tickets are on sale for the November 3 meeting with 10 %
discount for single bookings or 20 % for parties of 20 or more.
Both offers are subject to bookings being made seven or more days
in advance. Simply go online at www.ayr-racecourse.co.uk or call 0870-8505666.
