SAW DOCTORS TO PLAY ON EVE OF SCOTTISH GRAND NATIONAL
SAW DOCTORS RETURN TO RACECOURSE
IRISH folk rock band The Saw
Doctors are to return to Ayr Racecourse later this year after their
sensational Rock At The Racecourse gig at the venue last May.
They will play a full concert after racing on Friday April 18 the
first day of the two day Coral Scottish Grand National Festival.
The Saw Doctors have a great affinity with the racing world and
have already played a string of racecourse dates throughout the UK.
The band this year celebrate 20 years together and it was announced
last week that they are to be honoured with the Lifetime
Achievement Award at the 2008 Meteor Ireland Music Awards in Dublin
on February 15.
Announcing the April concert, Ayr Racecourse Marketing Manager
Lindsey Smith said : "We regard this as a major coup and are
delighted the band have agreed to come back to the course after
their successful visit last year.
"We have been inundated with people asking us 'when will
the Saw Doctors be coming back ?'. Now we can give them
something concrete to look forward to. There should be a terrific
atmosphere as we normally have a large Irish contingent attending
the Coral Scottish Grand National meeting and they will no doubt be
looking forward to the concert."
The Saw Doctors will take the stage shortly after the last race
which is run at 5.40 pm and play a full concert which will last for
around an hour and a half.
Tickets priced £25 for Club and £15 for Grand Stand can
be purchased online at www.ayr-racecourse.co.uk or
by calling 0870-8505666. There is a £2 discount available on
Club tickets if these are booked seven or more days in advance and
£4 discount for quantities of 20 or more. Grandstand discounts
are £1 per ticket on bookings up to 20 and £2 per ticket

The Saw Doctors concert will be the first of several at Ayr
Racecourse in 2008. Status Quo headline this year's Burns Rock
At The Racecourse on Saturday May 24 and Abba tribute band Bjorn
Again appear after racing on Saints and Sinners Night June 20.
