SAINTS AND SINNERS - THE BIGGEST PARTY NIGHT OF THE YEAR

MONSTERSCOTLAND'S biggest party night of the year that's Saints and Sinners Racenight at Ayr Racecourse on Friday June 20.
After 42 years at Hamilton Racecourse the legendary charity night out is moving 48 miles to Ayr and what a party is in store with some fabulous entertainment accompanying the racing action.
Bosses at Ayr Racecourse are naturally thrilled that Saints and Sinners is coming to town and have ensured it will be an unforgettable experience with the main aim as always to raise as much money as possible for charity.
Last year more than 8000 people raised in excess of £100,000 and by moving Saints and Sinners to Ayr organisers are confident these figures will increase year by year.
Philip Martin, Racing Convenor for Saints and Sinners said : "The committee's decision to move was entirely based around maximising resources for the charities we support each year. Ayr provided a compelling proposition to grow the event and achieve this."
The Saints and Sinners Club of Scotland prides itself on supporting small Scottish based charities by awarding them grants on a yearly basis and the Racenight is an integral part of fundraising activities which also include golf days, clay pigeon shoots and lunches.
Charities who receive grants include Children's Hospice, Down's Syndrome, Fairbridge, Riding For The Disbaled, Sea Cadets, Gorgie City Farm, Scottish Adoption Agency, Victim Support and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The Saints and Sinners Club is restricted to 100 individuals, drawn from the world of business, entertainment and sport. This year's chairman is broadcaster Fred Macaulay, just one of a host of celebrities expected to attend the big night.
Others are expected to include former footballer Billy Dodds, ex Scotland rugby star John Beattie, stars from BBC's River City, and other Scottish based broadcasters, actors and footballers.
In 2007 Saints and Sinners awarded grants totalling £100,000 to 138 small charities and there are absolutely no overheads as Philip Martin explained : "The committee is drawn from the membership and runs with no administration costs."
This year's first ever Ayr Saints and Sinners Night will feature entertainment of a standard normally found only in top theatres and concert halls.
Frankies Monster Mash Show will be performing in the Horseshoe Bar and the stage is a jumble of crumbling castle walls and Transylvanian paraphernalia.
The show is packed full of energy and good natured fun, with regular calls for audience participation.
The new Sports Bar is the setting for a special performance after racing by legendary Abba tribute band Bjorn Again.
Lindsey Smith, Marketing Manager at Ayr Racecourse said ; "Saints and Sinners Night has a great reputation and we aim to make it even bigger and better this year. Bjorn Again will play a full concert after racing in our new £4.5 million sports bar.
"As ever they will be performing all of Abba's hits and remember this is the act who sell out shows at the SECC in Glasgow every year to be able to see them perform live at Saints and Sinners is an added bonus.
"Frankies Monster Mash is something completely different - a cabaret, revue type of show in the tradition of the Rocky Horror Show.
"It really is first class entertainment and I am confident that the charities will benefit greatly from everything we are doing to ensure that this is Scotland's biggest party night."
In addition to the two big shows racegoers will also be entertained by a jazz band and a samba band.

The move of Saints and Sinners to the seaside course further enhances Ayr's reputation as one of the leading racecourses in Britain and people attending the track will enjoy fabulous new facilities.
The Ayr Executive have invested £4.5 million in the new sports bar, there is also a new members/owners and trainers bar overlooking the paddock and a new Club bar beside the Weighing Room.
All of this will add to the comfort of attending racing at Ayr which can hold up to 20,000 racegoers and it is envisaged in the years to come attendance at the Saints and Sinners Race Night will be approaching capacity.
Ayr Racecourse Chairman Alan Macdonald said : "We are delighted to welcome Saints and Sinners to Ayr Racecourse and I am certain it will be a bigger showpiece than ever before because of this move.
"The main objective is to raise as much money as possible for the charities that Saints and Sinners support.
"To do that successfully we obviously must attract a really large crowd and by putting in place the entertainment that we have I feel we will achieve that. It is all about people having fun and enjoying themselves and raising money for charities in the process.
"It is a great honour for Ayr - we are already home to the two main Scottish racing events of the year the Coral Scottish Grand National and totesport Ayr Gold Cup and we are looking forward to working with all those involved with Saints and Sinners to develop and grow the fixture into one of the top social events in the calendar.
"Our facilities and viewing areas among the best in Britain with restaurants, bars and lawns. We are also introducing a special gazebo package for Saints and Sinners where racegoers can purchase a gazebo plus drinks and food hamper and enjoy a great night and view the racing from trackside."
