NEW COACH SERVICE FOR CORAL NATIONAL MEETING
ALL ABOARD THE SCOTTISH GRAND NATIONAL EXPRESS
AYR Racecourse is to operate a
special return Express Coach service to the Coral Scottish Grand
National from five pick up points throughout the west of Scotland.
Racegoers will be able to buy a special 'through ticket'
which includes entry to the racecourse, their coach travel and
racecard.
The 'National Express' will run from Glasgow city centre,
Hamilton, East Kilbride, Kilmarnock and Irvine and will arrive at
the course approximately two hours before the first race, departing
two hours after the last race allowing those using the service to
enjoy after race entertainment.
Ayr Racecourse Marketing Manager Lindsey Smith, explaining the
reasoning behind the introduction of the service, said : "We
feel its very important to make the racecourse accessible to all.
"By providing a direct coach service with a through ticket we
believe we are doing just that. It means racegoers using the coach
won't need to worry about getting to and from the course. They
know where the coach leaves from to get to Ayr and where and when
it departs for the return journey."
Early indications are that the Racecourse Express is going to be a
popular addition to Coral Scottish Grand National Day. The service
will also run on other major racedays including RBS Saints and
Sinners Racenight.
Cost of through ticket including coach travel to and from Glasgow
City Centre, Hamilton and East Kilbride is £44 for Club
tickets and £23 for Grandstand tickets. From Kilmarnock and
Irvine the cost is £42 (club) and £21 (Grandstand).
