MILLY GOES FOR QUICK FIRE AYR DOUBLEAYR Racecourse holds the first of two December jumps meetings today (Wednesday) with the seven race card carrying more than £50,000 in prizemoney.
Recent Aintree winner Lampion du Bost, owned by former Rangers players Billy Dodds and Craig Moore, is one of five runners declared in the feature race, the Dawn Construction Handicap Chase over two miles four furlongs. Another interesting runner here is Peter Monteith's First Look with Graham Lee riding.
Milly the Filly, owned by Raymond Anderson Green, goes for a quick fire double in the opening race at 12.30 pm having won at Ayr last week. Young jockey Jenny Riding takes the mount again and trainer Peter Monteith also saddles Stand On Me (Graham Lee) in the same race.
Another winner at Ayr last week was Endless Power and the Jim Goldie trained, Richard McGrath ridden horse goes in the four runner Jim and Morag Engagement Novice Chase at 2.30 pm.
Clerk of the Course Katherine Self said : "The going is currently heavy . Strong winds are also forecast."
