'MYSTERY' CAR WILL BE UNVEILED AT SCOTTISH SUN RACEDAY
SILVER COINS UP FOR GRABS AT TWO DAY JUNE
MEETING
For best dressed ladies on Saints and Sinners Racenight - Friday June 20 - and Scottish Sun Raceday - Saturday June 21 - will be awarded a silver coin which guarantees them a place in Ladies Day Final on Friday September 19.
The new sponsors of the Ayr Ladies Day are Kerr & Smith/Iveco Trucks who will reveal on Scottish Sun Raceday the make and model of car which will be this year's star prize.
Already the mystery car has been paraded through Ayrshire and beyond in a box on the back of an Iveco truck and has also made an appearance at several race days and at Burns Rock At The Racecourse.
But all will be revealed on June 21 when the car will be on show for the first time. Several coins will be handed out on both June racedays and by the time Ladies Day Final dawns 27 lucky ladies will be in possession of a coin.
They will then draw a horse for the feature race on September 19 - the John Smith's Ayr Silver Cup and the lady who has the winning horse will land the car, runner up will receive a fabulous cruise for two from Stewart Travel and Ocean Village Cruises and third prize is a piece of jewellery courtesy of Oghams the Jewellers of Ayr and Edinburgh.
Ayr Racecourse Marketing Manager Lindsey Smith said : "We are really excited about the start of our Ladies competition and the unveiling of the car.
"We are expecting around 15,000 people over the two day meeting and I am confident we will see some worthy ladies make their way to the final by receiving a silver coin."
First race on Friday June 20 is 6.10 pm with bars and restaurants opening at 4.10 pm, on Saturday June 21 first race is at 2.25 pm and gates open at 12.25 pm. There is top entertainment after racing both days with Bjorn Again performing the hits of Abba in the Grandstand Bar on Friday while Frankies Monster Mash Show will be performing in the Horseshoe Bar.
On Saturday Queen tribute band Kings of Queen will be on stage immediately after the last race in the Grandstand Bar.
