Racing goes ahead at Ayr Racecourse this afternoon after
the track passed an early morning inspection.
Clerk of the Course Emma Marley called the inspection after
heavy rain had been forecast. A total of 7mm fell and the
going is described as heavy.
The first race is due off at 1.50pm with the last race at
5.15pm.
Principal race of the afternoon is the John Smith's No Nonsense
Handicap over one mile one furlong which has attracted 12
runners.
Champion jockey Paul Hanagan is in action with seven booked
mounts.
