Giles Insurance Raceday takes place at Ayr Racecourse on
Thursday October 6 with some big fields and exciting racing in
prospect.
The afternoon opens with two races for two year-olds - the Seric
Systems Sweepstakes British Stallion Studs E.B.F. Maiden over a
mile due off at 2.10pm followed half an hour later by The Bud &
Joe Pieroni Memorial Nursery Handicap over six furlongs.
Champion jockey Paul Hanagan is in action and his best chance of
a winner could be in the Laser Life Handicap at 4.10pm on Gala
Casino Star for trainer Richard Fahey.
The afternoon comes to a close with the Giles Insurance
Corporate Handicap over seven furlongs and two horses who both won
at the course last week could in opposition here - the Ruth Carr
trained Beckermet and Linda Perratt's Benny The Bear. This is
Ayr's penultimate flat meeting of the season with the finale - John
Smith's Raceday taking place on October 29.
That day there will also be some prizes handed out in the shape
of the top owner, trainer and jockey at Ayr during the flat season
and currently leading the way respectively are Ken McGarrity,
Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan.
