Ayr Racecourse stages its final flat meeting of the 2011 season
on Saturday October 29 with a seven race card scheduled.
One of the highlights of the afternoon will be the awards for
the top jockey, trainer and owner for the flat campaign at Ayr with
Paul Hanagan, Richard Fahey and Ken McGarrity leading their
respective championships.
Hanagan, on course for his second successive British Champion
Jockeys title, is likely to be in action along with other leading
riders including Tom Eaves, Phillip Makin and PJ McDonald.
The racing is due to come under starter's orders at 2.10pm with
the Miss Ellie British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing
E.B.F. Maiden Stakes and the feature race of the afternoon is the
John Smith's No Nonsense Handicap due off at 4.25pm.
There is a good mix of races including two sprints, several
middle distant contests and a one mile seven furlong marathon.
Gates open at 12.10 pm, first race is 2.10pm and the last race,
the Best Odds Guaranteed At Victorchandler.com Handicap is off at
5.30pm.
