Trainers Linda Perratt and Alan Berry were toasting doubles
at Ayr Racecourse's Glasgow Fair Festival Family Raceday on Monday
and young jockey Julie Burke booted him two winners in front of a
crowd of almost 4000.
Linda's double returned whopping odds of 286/1 courtesy of
Sabratha (6/1), ridden by Julie Burke in the Polyflor Handicap and
40/1 shot Abernethy, the mount of Duran Fentiman, in the
Hamilton Advertiser Handicap.
Berry's winners were Wicked Wilma (5/1) under Paddy Mathers,in
the Rutherglen Reformer Handicap and Royal Blade (9/1) for Julie
Burke in the Paisley Daily Express Handicap.
Easiest winner of the afternoon came in the last when an
enterprising ride from Freddie Tylicki saw the Michael Dods trained
Spinatrix surge 9 lengths clear of Hardrock Diamond (11/2) to land
the East Kilbride News Handicap .
The feature race of the afternoon, the British Stallion Studs
Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes was won by Fresa (10/1)
for jockey Stevie Donohoe and trainer Sir Mark Prescott.
Ayr next races on Monday July 25 - the Summer Sizzler Raceday
with the first race, the Bodog Backs Ayr United Maiden Stakes due
off at 2.20pm.
Gates open at 12.30 pm and the last race on the card is
5.30pm.
