The traditional Glasgow Fair Festival Family
Raceday takes place at Ayr Racecourse on Monday 18 July with a
seven race card looking certain to boast big fields.
The afternoon kicks off at 2.30pm with the main race on the card
- the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden
Stakes. This will feature 2 year olds running over 7 furlongs and
will attract runners from top southern yards.
The Rutherglen Reformer Handicap over 5 furlongs at 4.30pm will
feature some tried and tested handicappers while The Paisley Daily
Express half and hour later over 6 furlongs will be contested by
some higher rated horses.
Gates open at 12.30pm and the last race on the card is
5.30pm.
Meanwhile on Monday at Ayr champion jockey Paul Hanagan was in
top form riding a double courtesy of Bomber Jet (9/4) in the Bet
With Your Mobile At victorchandler.com Median Auction Maiden and
Linda Perratt's Arriva La Diva (11/4) in the Best Odds Guaranteed
At Victor Chandler Handicap.
Linda came close with two other runners - Berbice beaten only a
neck by Shayla (12/1), trained by Alan Swinbank and ridden by PJ
McDonald, in the Play Poker At victorchandler.com Handicap (Div 1)
and then Retreat Content went down by a head to 9/1 chance Sartingo
again trained and ridden by the same combination.
Other winners on the day included Timeless Elegance (9/4 fav)
ridden by Dale Swift in the "Drummy's 70th" Fillies Handicap and
Noel Wilson's Drive Home (6/1) in the hands of Adrian Nicholls in
