Ayr United Median Auction Maiden Stakes by two lengths from Samba
Night (9/2).
Royal Blade (9/2) followed last week's course win by landing the
sporteventayrshire.com Handicap by a length and a half from
Beckermet (3/1) for trainer Alan Berry and jockey Julie Burke while
Jewelled Dagger, a winner two weeks ago at Ayr, held on gamely to
land the Jockey Club Restaurant Handicap by a head from Cat O' Nine
Tails in the hands of Tom Eaves for trainer Keith Dalgleish.
Newmarket based jockey Richard Mullen made the long trip to Ayr
worthwhile when riding Cuckney Bear (6/4 fav) to win the Glasgow
Prestwick Airport Handicap by two and three quarter lengths from
Purkab (11/2) and the last race, the Scottish Racing Apprentice
Handicap went to Military Call (5/1) ridden by Justin Newman and
trained by Alistair Whillans in the Borders.
