First winner for 15 years!

Dundonald based permit holder Robert Goldie saddled his first winner for 15 years at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday when Alexander Oats won at 20/1.

Given a superb ride by Harry Haynes, the gelding came from off the pace to lead before the last and romp to a three length win in the Bet Live at victorchandler.com Novices Chase.

Winners haven't been so hard to come by for owners Raymond and Anita Anderson Green and Locked Inthepocket carried their famous green and yellow colours to victory in the Play Casino At Victorchandler.com Handicap Chase giving them their 350th success. The 11/4 favourite was ridden by Richie McGrath and trained by Pauline Robson and won by 22 lengths.

Yes Tom (8/13 fav) was another easy winner, landing the Irvine Anderson Memorial Novices Hurdle under Jeremiah McGrath for Irish trainer Roy Wilson by 14 lengths from Arctic Court (11/2). And the most comfortable win of the day by a massive 42 lengths was that of Garleton (100/30 fav) for Maurice Barnes and Zander Voy in the Jim Smith QFSM, 57, Retirement Handicap Chase.

The feature race of the day, the Best Odds Guaranteed At Victor Chandler Handicap Chase went the way of Donald McCain's Reindeer Dippin (9/1) ridden by Brian Harding.

Jim Goldie landed his customary Ayr winner with Circus Clown (8/1) in the Ronnie Clark Retirement Handicap. Graham Lee steered the former Peter Monteith trained horse home by three and a half lengths.
