ROCK legends Status Quo will headline the 2008 Burns Rock At The Racecourse, From the Jam have been named as special guests. The concert will take place on Saturday May 24 as one of the highlights of the burns an' a' that Festival, gates will open at 6pm.

This ensures that two of the most iconic sounds in the history of rock music will be on stage at Ayr Racecourse at the prestigious gig.

Status Quo are one of the most successful bands in the history of rock. They formed in 1966 and have sold tens of millions of albums and singles all over the world. The band are currently on tour promoting their latest album "In Search Of The Fourth Chord".

The tour has taken them all over Europe and the UK and has been playing to sell out audiences everywhere underlining their place at the very forefront of rock music.

Two of the three original members of The Jam - bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler - first toured with From the Jam in 2007 and sold out both a 20 date UK May Tour and a 21 date UK Winter tour. Foxton and Buckler along with Russell Hastings and Dave Moore are currently on a coast to coast tour of the USA and next month head to Australia and New Zealand before returning to the UK to play several dates including Burns Rock At The Racecourse.

The news of From The Jam's appearance as special guests at the Racecourse gig is sure to have fans clamouring for tickets to see the Royalty of Rockers Quo play on the same bill as the Monarchs of Mod. Burns Rock At The Racecourse follows a successful first ever Rock At The Racecourse in May this year which featured Deacon Blue and The Saw Doctors.
